Posts: 2408 03/19/10 9:44 AM	Tags : None So I went to read some NHL.COM articles this morning and stumbled on this: Gabby's lucky shot. Why does the NHL has to be so degrading?? that was a great shot last night!!! his goal was awesome and well aimed, but the NHL brushes it off as a "lucky shot" ??? I guarantee you if it was Malkin or Crosby that scored like that it would have read: Amazing accurate, well placed killer goal by Malkin/Crosby!! I am really thinking about hanging up the hockey skates and not look back, I am so sick and tired of the NHL. I spoke to an older gentleman in the diner yesterday, where I was having some quick bites with my son, and he was an avid Rangers fan since the 60's, he complained about Bettman and the NHL more than I do, the man was on point with every assessment he made...it only made me resent Bettman and cronies even more. Blah!

When the Penguins had losing seasons there were no such headlines as "lucky shot".... I paid close attention to NHL.COM this year and came to the conclusion that they really have something against certain teams, Rangers to be one of them...childish, to say the least.

Posts: 1621 03/19/10 9:59 AM	i agree that if it was crosby/malkin/ovie then it wouldnt say lucky shot...there are a lot of great players in this league and gaborik is one of them...it shouldnt be all about those 3...everytime you see something with the nhl its all crosby or ovie and its sickening

Posts: 12160 03/19/10 10:15 AM	It was a lucky shot. A fluttering puck going high and wide that the goalie tries to catch across his body but ends up knocking it down into the net? Worst goal given up last night, and that's saying a lot considering Lundy's three softies.

Posts: 1955 03/19/10 10:25 AM	Who knows, Dolan may have pissed off NHL higher-ups. First of all, he's a jerkoff, so there's that. Secondly, he may have stepped on toes and impeded progress with his CableTV empire and had a pissing match with TV rights and monies, etc... . Plus, we hired Avery, which pissed the league off I'm sure. Lots of reasons for the NHL to not 'like' us . BUT, still, awfully unprofessional for them to actually ACT on those things, IF they even are doing anything purposefully.

Posts: 664 03/19/10 12:27 PM	Even the most avid Ranger fan has to agree that that was a lucky shot. It deflected off the defenseman's stick and was absolutely flubbed by Conklin. The 1st thing I said as the puck fluttered into the net was "wow, what a lucky goal" . His goal earlier in the year vs. LA was a great shot. Last night was a lucky goal.

Posts: 2408 03/20/10 9:13 AM	Asphyxy, Go figure, the Wings win and the headline is about how Bettman's marketing team fell short, if that does not sound like a Penguins love fest..I don't know anymore. Instead of celebrating the Wings they find it a bigger deal that "boy wonder" and his fly less birds did not achieve the set up agenda from Bettman...how more obvious can you be!

Too bad he fired wide and missed the net late in the third against the Blues. You cannot always have homers such as Rosen stroking the fans all the time. It would be refreshing to watch just one game where Sam could take some of the harmless shots on goal and take it for what they are, harmless shots on goal. A few more, "That shot was turned away by Lundqvist" or "Lundqvist easily directs that high blast into the corner with his blocker"....Anything instead of every single freakin' shot, whether it's a superb save or a harmless floater into his breadbasket, met with a "SAVE LUNDQVIST!" Every single time! Please, enough already. For every Bettman stroking Sidney there's a Rosen stroking Lundy.
