I then come home to find out that Roszival had the most time on ice of the entire team!!! Completely baffling!!! I was shocked when Torts REWARDED them midway through the second with a power play shift together. I lost a lot of faith in Torts tonight.

So I was at the game tonight, and I have to say that Roszival played perhaps the worst game I have ever seen him play, and that's saying a lot. His first period was soo atrocious that it offended Redden, who immediately came out and had a terrible second so as not to be shown up. It was so bad that he deserved to be booed after he scored, as utterly ridiculous as that sounds. Although Reds did provide perhaps the best moment of the night when he totally wiffed on a check and slammed himself into the boards.

I will enjoy beating this dead horse just to vent some frustration....but Torts is a FAILURE this year. Certainly not ALL his fault but a LOT is his. R & R decisions are horrible, Line changes are horrible, MDZ is not improving at all (rookies need some coaching or teaching and they are letting this kid hang out to dry. Send him down or sit him for a bit , he's in over his head here at the end and is making a lot of mistakes. Not his fault, but it seems Torts just keeps sending him in to "learn" on the job). There is zero "structure" or offensive plan in place. Zero chemistry. I'm starting not to like Sullivan either because he keeps saying the same catch phrases but with no results or changes either. Torts and his cronie are like ROBOTS - same thing, same crap, same results. Their only solution is to try different lines "while staying within the team concept" and concentrating on our "play away from the puck". Doesn't work Johnny! Let's start working on our play WITH the puck so we can frickin pass, shoot and score. And WHAT "team concept"??? Why are we sticking to this concept when it clearly doesn't work. He is too impatient and STUBBORN to change his "plan" and is failing. Another season MAYBE he can improve but THIS season he SUCKS. Period. Plus his personality SUCKS too, so I think the players just don't LIKE playing for him and one of the reasons they are unmotivated. I think HE is the "poison" in that locker room.
There, I feel SO much better. Thanks for listening. Going to go grab a cup of coffee and a large knife) Morning everyone!!

MAYBE.. and this probably a long shot.. but just MAYBE the idea was to put them out there to pray they might play well enough to spark some interest for someone to actually make a trade over the summer. I know I know, it's not the most likely of scenarios, but a man can dream for some extra cap space, can't he?

And the alternative to R&R- to hear some it can't be MDZ or Gilroy because this board has its detractors as well - it can't be Girardi because everyone would be throwing a fit if he had the ice time being suggested. Maybe it can be Staal and his clone and his clone and his clone and his clone and his clone- see that wasn't so hard to do.

i have to agree that torts is on dope! how can he justify always changing his line combos? every game i watch i don't know who is going to be a line mate with who. sickens me. has he tried anismov, avery and jokey? if not why? callahan and drury should share the same room at their hotels when they are on the road, i would never seperate them. it seems like they are a couple of people short who can mesh with the "pair" of players. look at prospal and gabby, he cannot find the third to gel the line. however changing the third on the line every game is not the way to go either. they need to play together for a while games not a game together. the defense is a train wreck!! staal is the brightest spot and MDZ is second. Gilroy, not so much, Girardi has his moments, Redden cmon what is his issues he looks like he has A.D.D. and Rosival is a monkey i think he was better when he had Graves' number. I think there needs to more whip cracking and benching of people who are not up to snuff. if it takes them being sent down that do it!

Dr Leetch wrote: Can't argue when a statement makes sense-so I have to agree in regards to Gilroy and MDZ. Its not that the D plays bad at times but the inexperience(two rookies), the soft play in front (players that don't confront the body well enough to make a difference when a stick check is insufficient) and the lack of production from the blue line (20th) all compound for a D that doesn't do anything well enough as a unit to make a difference. |
