Rangers sign Defenseman Lee Baldwin?

Nothing official yet, don't know who this kid is but the Rangers may have signed him.

University of Alaska Anchorage defenseman Lee Baldwin (6'4" 203lbs) has apparently signed (I've got no link to any announcement) with the New York Rangers after just one season with the Seawolves. The 21 year old (April '88) Baldwin came to the Seawolves after a BCHL All-Star/Team MVP season with the Victoria Grizzlies in 2008-2009. This past season, he finished the season with UAA amassing 1 goal and 9 assists in 32 games.

Lundy's weak glove hand is surfacing, again, at the wrong time!

This is not a deeply talented and strong club, obviously, so the necessity for Lundy to elevate his game is paramount, if the Rangers will have any chance of creeping into that last playoff seed. Another concern are some very soft 5 Hole goals as well which may be caused by Lundy overplaying to his weak glove side and thus exposing the area between the pads.

The bottom line is that this team will only go as far as Lundy can take them so he needs to step up tomorrow and not have a performance like against St Louis. You always hate to use that 'must win' term but tomorrow's game.........

from the GM to the coach, to the losers like Drury , Redden, Rosival , the only untouchables are Gaborik , Lundqvist, Callahan and Avery in my opinion...........

Everyday i look on espn.com and tsn.ca to see if the New York Ranger ownership has got rid of him yet but everyday i get disappointed! I just dont get how this man is still the GM of this hockey club? He is a horrible GM he makes bad signings for aging vets he has zero eye for young talent and he never has the stones to make that big trade because he thinks what youth we do have is the next great thing but it never pans out EVER! He has been here for 10 years now and if you ask me its been 9 years too long we are about to embark on our 3rd " Rebuilding" stage in the ten years he has been here i just dont get what he has on ranger ownership but this guy is the main problem Tom Renney should have never been fired i thought renney was an excellent coach while here he never brought us close to the cup but ill tell you what his teams never quit on him like they are doing to torts. Its time to wake up Mr.Dolan this guy has to go FIRE SATHER ALREADY!

Take it or leave it, I just feel like posting what I'd like to see happen in the offseason since playoffs or not, the Rangers are going nowhere this year.

First up, these two moves must happen for the off season to be a success.

1. Rosival traded, preferably no big contracts are sent the Rangers way in the deal.
2. Marc Staal signed long term, I'm talking 30-40 million for 8-10 years.

The rest is just what I would do.

3.Jokinen gone
4. Lisin gone
5. Shelley gone
6. Eriksson and Newbury gone
7. Girardi shopped around, if a good deal comes the Rangers way, pull the trigger. Otherwise sign him for 1-2 years.
8. E.C. offered a qualifying contract, if he files for arbitration let him walk depending on what is awarded
9. Prospal, throw 2-3 million at for a year and let him decide if he wants to stay.
10. Alex Auld signed cheaply for another year unless a better backup can be found.
11. Voros and Brashear traded if possible,...

Some,( most, a few, me,) said if Gaby stays healthy and gives us 40 we're gonna be tough to beat and should make a run. Then it was Gaby needs someone else to carry the load, so enter Ollie. If we tighten up or play a more conservative D style was a nice try. How about the if Redden and Rosi would just not suck, but be OK, (not sure that one ever happened) blah blah blah blah. This team and organization is currently a joke. The icing on this years season was Chris Drury, (my captain my captain.... what another joke, does anyone on this team have any pride??) sorry got distracted, the icing is Dreary saying this team lacks maturity. Holy...., really, maturity, they lack it?? So its not missing the net, or flutter wrist shots from the point, or bad inopportune line changes, or goalies giving up ridiculous goals from impossible angles, or a defense of 3rd line players, or selfish play by forwards, or the non selfish forwards passing up shots. Really, Chris, its maturity, wow...

NHL.COM: Gabby's lucky shot

So I went to read some NHL.COM articles this morning and stumbled on this: Gabby's lucky shot.
Why does the NHL has to be so degrading?? that was a great shot last night!!! his goal was awesome and well aimed, but the NHL brushes it off as a "lucky shot" ???

I guarantee you if it was Malkin or Crosby that scored like that it would have read: Amazing accurate, well placed killer goal by Malkin/Crosby!!

I am really thinking about hanging up the hockey skates and not look back, I am so sick and tired of the NHL.
I spoke to an older gentleman in the diner yesterday, where I was having some quick bites with my son, and he was an avid Rangers fan since the 60's, he complained about Bettman and the NHL more than I do, the man was on point with every assessment he made...it only made me resent Bettman and cronies even more.

We are all concerned about the ranges making the playoff's, WHY? They won't make it past the first round and do not have a chance of ever winning th the CUP. Anyone disagree. I didn't think so. There fore, tank for the season and hopefullly get a good draft pick. Put AULD for the rest of these season and bring up potential AHLer's for rest of season. At least on D. Do not play R&R
If game against ST L. did not convince anybody that those two bums should not be playing, then your just plain blind.

Roszival...

So I was at the game tonight, and I have to say that Roszival played perhaps the worst game I have ever seen him play, and that's saying a lot. His first period was soo atrocious that it offended Redden, who immediately came out and had a terrible second so as not to be shown up. It was so bad that he deserved to be booed after he scored, as utterly ridiculous as that sounds. Although Reds did provide perhaps the best moment of the night when he totally wiffed on a check and slammed himself into the boards.

I then come home to find out that Roszival had the most time on ice of the entire team!!! Completely baffling!!! I was shocked when Torts REWARDED them midway through the second with a power play shift together. I lost a lot of faith in Torts tonight.

I'm thinking their tanking the season because they don't like the coach. I really hope that is why, this team can't be this bad. They give out 2 points to anyone who comes to the garden. sam rosen and joe micheletti said st louis averages 35 shots a game since they changed coaches. they only had 16 shots tonight. They knew they didn't have to work hard to get a win.

Really disappointed with the game tonight... Had a great time at MSG as always, got my jersey signed by Graves and Fotiu. 1st period was awesome, but inexplicable defensive lapses, soft goals, and the incredibly inept PP did us in. At the end of the 5 on 3 I couldn't take it and screamed "Do you guys practice this?" it was pathetic. no movement away from the puck, telegraphed soft passes, no one going to the net = no shots, no goal. started the fire sather chant from the back of section 302- glad to hear the 400's pick up up and it echoed around the arena for a minute.

the playoffs are a lost cause. i'd rather see Potter, Sanguenetti, even Heikkanen play instead of Roszival and Redden (even though Redden actually hit the net and scored tonight)...
